Jocelyn Eve Counseling is a therapy and consulting practice that aspires to create accessible and inclusive healing spaces for individuals and communities using an anti-racist lens. Our vision is that in these re-imagined spaces we will explore our curiosity about healing as individuals and communities. It is our belief this approach is as much about hope and possibility as it is about honoring our pain. We hope to understand how we got here, how to create and advocate for change, and how to imagine a more equitable future.

A commitment to clients: We will explore and honor all of the pieces of who you are; each part of your identity (race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and more) impacts how you experience the world and how the world responds to you. We will seek opportunities to better understand systemic barriers to wellness, including how White Supremacy culture and privilege can show up in the therapeutic space, and ways to integrate anti-racist practice and policy in all that we do.

A commitment to community: We will operationalize the "social justice" principle of social work by challenging injustices in our communities as advocates, allies, and accomplices in the fight against oppression and inequality.

Values

We aspire for our work to reflect our values. We are committed to personal, professional, and community anti-racism work, the decolonization of self and therapy, and to deeply respecting the rights and humanity of those who hold marginalized identities.

We believe we all have inherent biases that may effect our work together and should harm take place, we are fully committed to a restorative justice process. The purpose being to understand how we have impacted another and taking accountability for our actions. Our aim is to uphold the voices of the most marginalized in the room at all times. Feel encouraged to ask more about our commitment, our engagement in anti-racism work, and the restorative justice process. Learn more about our guiding principles here.
